Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the landscape of emergency medicine, offering new possibilities for clinical decision-making, triage, and patient care. However, the attitudes and perceptions of emergency physicians towards AI are largely unexplored.

The ARISE study (Artificial Intelligence Survey Among ED Professionals) is a global survey study designed to understand how emergency physicians perceive AI’s role in their field. By gathering insights from healthcare professionals, we aim to assess the potential benefits, challenges, and overall attitudes towards AI integration in emergency care.

The ARISE study was developed with contributions from emergency physicians, internists acute medicine, psychologists, engineers, and AI researchers across Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, the USA, Germany, Poland, India, Singapore, and Nepal

We are seeking national coordinators to support data collection in their respective countries and contribute as co-authors to the study. If you are interested in joining the ARISE Consortium, read more or contact us.

    Methodology

We developed an international survey to explore how acute and emergency medicine physicians view the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into clinical practice. The survey measures attitudes towards AI, trust in AI, and responsibility attribution in AI-assisted care. It was created through focus groups, expert evaluation, and rigorous translation procedures. With support from a global network of national coordinators, the survey is distributed worldwide via professional societies and direct outreach. By participating, you contribute valuable insights that will guide the future implementation of AI in emergency care. Help us shape the future of acute and emergency medicine—your perspective matters!
